Part one
What the service is — and is not
No. Gatsby Nights provides offline themed event entertainment only. Guests play with symbolic chips and points that are issued free of charge, cannot be purchased and have no monetary value. There are no stakes, no cash prizes, no betting and no online casino service of any kind. Our responsible entertainment notice sets this out in full.
They cannot. The cabinets in our retro slots lounge are decorative event props running on symbolic credits. The coin head is blanked, the note path is removed, and there is no hopper, payout tray or ticket printer. A reel result only moves a number on the evening's leaderboard.
No. Every adult guest receives one identical stack at the door, free of charge. There is no buy-in, no top-up and no transfer for value. When a stack is gone, a guest can keep playing on any table at the host's discretion, because the chips are a scoring device rather than a wager.
We do not provide cash prizes and we ask that cash is not used as the reward at an event we host. Clients award trophies, experiences, keepsake chip sets, team rewards or an extra day of leave. The prize is yours to choose within that boundary.
Adults aged 18+ only. That applies to every part of a Gatsby Nights event, including the slots lounge and the photo set, and it is written into the booking rather than assumed. Where a celebration spans generations we schedule the gaming floor after younger guests leave, or place it in a separate room with its own door control.
Part two
Planning, numbers and timing
up to 350 guests at a single event. Above roughly 150 we split the floor into zones — a table zone, a slots lounge and a photo set — so the room keeps circulating instead of queueing. Below 30, a single table and one host is usually the right answer.
up to 6 hours. Three to four hours suits most evenings once speeches and food are allowed for. Two hours works for a reception segment. Six hours is best with a dinner break in the middle rather than continuous play.
As a planning rule, one table per 18–25 guests, adjusted for whether people are seated for dinner at the same time. The table entertainment page has worked examples at 60, 120, 220 and 350 guests.
Three to five months for Friday and Saturday dates in November and December. Four to six weeks is usually comfortable for the rest of the year, and midweek dates are easier throughout. Interstate work needs longer because of freight.
No, and most do not. Croupiers teach as they deal and every seat has a plain-English rules card. Complete beginners are comfortable inside two minutes, and they produce the best reactions at the table.
Part three
Venues, logistics and documents
Trolley access through a loading door or goods lift, a level dry floor, standard 240 V power, and roughly three hours of bump-in for a full floor. Components pass through 800 mm openings. Send the venue's technical sheet with your enquiry and we will confirm fit before quoting. Full detail is on the mobile hire page.
Under cover only, on a level and dry base — a marquee, a verandah, a covered courtyard or a terrace with a roof. Felt and cabinet props cannot be exposed to weather, and we will not build where a change in conditions would put the equipment or guests at risk.
Yes. Public liability documentation is provided on request for your venue's file, along with a crew list and arrival times. If your procurement process needs a written confirmation that nothing is wagered or paid out, your producer will issue that with the quote.
Yes, across Victoria and interstate throughout Australia. Travel, freight and crew accommodation appear as separate transparent lines on the quote. Regional detail is on the Melbourne and Victoria page.
Yes — chip faces, card backs, felt inlays, signage and a custom cabinet front. Chips never carry denominations or values, only a logo or monogram. Artwork lead times start at three weeks and are listed on the production page.
Part four
Quotes, bookings and changes
Quoted on request. Pricing depends on event size, venue and chosen format, so we prepare a quote based on your bespoke event concept rather than publishing a rate card. You will receive a written breakdown showing equipment, crew, access and travel as separate lines.
Send the enquiry form, a producer calls to take the detail, you receive a written concept and quote, and the date is held once you confirm in writing and pay the booking instalment set out in your quote. Full commercial terms are in our Terms and Conditions.
Expected and easy to handle. Table counts and crew can usually be adjusted up to about ten days before the event, and sometimes later. Tell your producer as soon as you know — a smaller floor costs less, so there is no reason to hold back.
Cancellation and postponement terms, including the notice periods that apply, are set out in our Terms and Conditions and repeated in your quote. Where a date moves rather than cancels we will always try to transfer the booking instead of ending it.
We use your name, phone number, event type and date only to answer your enquiry and plan your event. We do not sell your details. Retention periods, your access and correction rights under the Australian Privacy Principles, and how to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner are all set out in our Privacy Policy.
This is strictly offline event entertainment. There is no real-money gambling, no betting, no cash prizes, and no online casino service.
